RC959-GESTM1 - гігабітний агрегуючий шлюз для каналів STM-1, що забезпечує користувачам Ethernet-доступ через мережі TDM. Як правило, застосовується для агрегації 63 каналів E1, що переносять Ethernet-трафік від віддалених шлюзів. Агрегований трафік передається далі через гігабітні інтерфейси в мережу з комутацією пакетів.

RC959-GESTM1 володіє функціональністю VLAN (802.1Q VLAN, Q-in-Q), що дозволяє застосовувати різні політики для трафіка різних віртуальних локальних мереж.

Управління RC959-GESTM1 може здійснюватися засобами SNMP/Telnet/CONSOLE, а віддалені пристрої EoPDH, засновані на GFP, можуть бути виявлені центральним RC959-GESTM1. І центральні, і віддалені пристрої можуть управлятися за допомогою системи управління NView.
